Built a custom plugin with APIs to enable HIPAA regulated client integrate WordPress directly to Airtable.
Project Description
The goal of this project was to enable secure, near real-time data synchronization between Airtable and WordPress. The client required bi-directional data flow, including pushing custom form submissions from WordPress into Airtable and querying WordPress data directly from Airtable.
Due to HIPAA considerations and data sensitivity, the client chose not to use third-party automation tools such as Zapier or Make. Instead, we developed a custom WordPress plugin that exposed secure REST API endpoints. These endpoints allowed Airtable scripts to send and retrieve data safely, while also automatically syncing form submissions back to Airtable. The solution now supports additional data exchange workflows beyond the initial scope.
